SCM managed the entitlements and designed and completed the construction of an 18,000-square-foot expansion of single-story non-climate-controlled storage in Harris County for Spartan Investment Group. This project also included the construction of a new RV and Boat parking pad as well as a new detention pond for stormwater management.
Challenges: This project presented a few unique challenges, including the need for the relocation of existing septic leach fields, precise erosion and sediment controls, and protection of a neighboring water source. Heavy rainfall in southern Georgia also presented scheduling challenges with sitework and concrete installation.
Solutions: To overcome these challenges, SCM was vigilant in the maintenance of the S&E control and followed GA Water Protection procedures to ensure the project was a success. Through strong relationships with the subcontractors, SCM was able to keep the construction schedule on track with the acceleration of tasks in between rain events.
