Overview: Spartan Construction Management designed and constructed this expansion in Longview to convert open space used for RV parking into drive-up self-storage. The existing parcel was maximized through a design-build process that yielded seventy-five non-climate-controlled units.
Tyler Street was a small project, but critical attention to detail must be paid to small projects to prevent delays. Material management and coordination were very important to our production and safety factors on this project.
Challenges: This small site did not offer room for material storage or laydown, so a separate part of the property was used to store materials.
Solutions: Over 1,000 CY of select fill was imported onto this site to bring it up to grade, and the site was meticulously designed to allow fire trucks while fitting the design between the existing roadway and buildings on opposite sides of the site.
